Overview
Our Windows & Linux Web Hosting solution provides a structured AWS environment for hosting websites, web applications, and business services. The solution uses AWS CloudFormation to deploy configurable Windows Server or Ubuntu Amazon EC2 infrastructure and may include Amazon RDS, networking, storage, monitoring, and related resources according to the selected architecture.
The deployment creates the essential infrastructure needed to launch web applications while reducing manual configuration and setup time. Compute, database, and networking resources are organized within a secure AWS architecture, providing a foundation that can be extended with load balancing, Auto Scaling, caching, and Multi-AZ services for business websites, customer portals, and application hosting.
Syed Solutions can assist with deployment, operating system configuration, web server installation, where included in the selected scope, Syed Solutions can configure IIS, Apache HTTP Server, or NGINX and validate basic application connectivity, database connectivity, security review, documentation, and integration with other AWS services. Customers remain responsible for applicable AWS infrastructure charges and any third-party software licensing required for their applications.

- Windows Server or Ubuntu EC2 deployment — your choice of operating system configured for web application hosting
- Optional Amazon RDS database integration — managed relational database service for application data storage when the selected architecture includes a database tier
- Secure VPC networking architecture — isolated network environment with controlled access boundaries
- Public and private subnet configuration — web-tier placement in public or private subnets according to the selected architecture, with database resources normally placed in private subnets. For production designs, a preferred pattern places an Application Load Balancer in public subnets with EC2 web servers in private subnets
- Security groups for controlled access — port-level rules restricting traffic to only required services
- Optional Elastic IP address — optional fixed public IPv4 address for workloads that specifically require direct public addressing. For scalable web applications, use an Application Load Balancer and Amazon Route 53 DNS record rather than binding the application architecture to one EC2 Elastic IP address
- Amazon EBS persistent storage volumes — durable block storage for application files and data
- Internet Gateway and route table configuration — controlled internet connectivity for web-facing resources
- CloudFormation-based repeatable deployment — consistent infrastructure provisioning across environments
- Single-instance deployment foundation — a single EC2 instance does not provide automatic high availability or horizontal scaling. Production architectures may require an Application Load Balancer, an EC2 Auto Scaling group, multiple Availability Zones, health checks, managed certificates, backups, monitoring, and a Multi-AZ database configuration
Note: Supported Windows Server and Ubuntu versions are limited to the AMIs and versions documented for the solution at the time of deployment. Not all Windows or Linux distributions are supported.
Optional production enhancements: Application Load Balancer, EC2 Auto Scaling, AWS Certificate Manager, Amazon Route 53, AWS WAF, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Backup or documented EBS backup strategy, Multi-AZ RDS, and Systems Manager Session Manager.
Deployment Overview
We discuss your hosting requirements — operating system preference, application stack, database needs, expected traffic, and domain/DNS configuration.
We deploy the EC2 instance, RDS database, VPC networking, security groups, EBS volumes, and Elastic IP using the CloudFormation template.
We configure the web server (IIS or Apache/Nginx), establish database connectivity, configure security settings, and verify the application serves correctly.
We deliver deployment documentation including server access details, database connection strings, backup procedures, and operational notes for your team.
Customer Responsibilities & Additional Charges
AWS services, third-party licenses, data transfer, storage, support plans, monitoring, backup, security tools, and other enabled resources may generate additional charges. Final architecture, service availability, features, and pricing depend on the selected AWS Region, configuration, software version, licensing terms, and customer requirements.
